Pepe Bordalas suffers defeat on the road, at the hands of Seville on Wednesday

Valencia on away loss to Seville at the Estadio Ramon Sanchez Pizjuan on Wednesday. Seville wanted to improve their league standing following a disappointing 0-0 draw with Real Sociedad in their previous game. Valencia lost 2-1 in the last match they played against R Madrid. Following today's result, Seville and Valencia currently occupy 3rd and 4th spots in the table, with 11 points and 10 points respectively after 6 matches.

Seville started strong and were rewarded for their efforts, thanks to an early goal from Papu Gomez in the 3rd minute. The momentum was now with Los Nervionenses, who then scored again through a goal from Lato Toni, at 15 minutes to establish a 2-0. Seville looked to have the game under control when they scored again and incerased their lead, thanks to a goal from Rafa Mir, 22 minutes in to establish a 3-0. The Bats in turn, then responded at the 31 minute mark increasing their lead with an effort from Hugo Duro to see out the first half 3-1. With both teams struggling to produce anything meaningful in the second half though, the game ended 3-1.

For Seville, Youssef En-Nesyri, Jesus Navas, Ivan Rakitic, Thomas Delaney and Nemanja Gudelj, came on for Rafa Mir, Gonzalo Montiel, Joan Jordan, Lucas Ocampos and Fernando. Valencia brought on Yunus Musah, Mouctar Diakhaby, Koba Koindredi, Marcos De Sousa and Manu Vallejo, to replace Jason, Omar Alderete, Daniel Wass, Goncalo Guedes and Hugo Duro.

There were bookings for Erik Lamela, Gonzalo Montiel, Rafa Mir, Joan Jordan and Nemanja Gudelj from Seville. For Valencia, Lato Toni, Omar Alderete and Mouctar Diakhaby saw yellow.

Seville next face Espanyol and Valencia are at home to Athletic Bilbao.
