Valencia enjoyed a mesmerizing home victory against Villarreal at Mestalla on Saturday. The two teams arrived at this game after suffering a defeat in their previous league game. Valencia faced the match with a desire to make up their league after losing 2-1 against Real Betis while Villarreal fell defeated by 1-3 in the last match they played against Celta. Following today's result, Valencia is 7th in the LaLiga, with 23 points from 15 matches, while Villarreal sits at 13th with 18 points after playing a total of 15 matches.

Both sides were struggling to produce anything in the first half and the teams went to the dressing room locked in a 0-0.

Valencia started strong in the second half of the game soon, thanks to a good early goal from Rodrigo Moreno in the 49th minute. However, Villarreal found an equaliser 1-1 thanks to a goal from Andre-Frank Zambo Anguissa in the 54th minute. Valencia got the go-ahead goal thanks to a goal from Ferran Torres 70 minutes in the game to establish the 2-1, finalising the game with a 2-1.

As for substitutions, both coaches used full substitutions. For Valencia, Kevin Gameiro, Vicente Esquerdo and Ruben Sobrino came on for Maxi Gomez, Francis Coquelin and Rodrigo Moreno, while Villarreal brought on Samuel Chukwueze, Javier Ontiveros and Carlos Bacca to replace Karl Toko Ekambi, Manu Morlanes and Moi Gomez.

The referee booked Dani Parejo from Valencia, while for Villarreal Raul Albiol and Gerard Moreno saw a yellow card as well.

Valencia will play against Levante at away stadium, while Villarreal will face Atlético de Madrid at home stadium.
