The club released a statement confirming two people had tested positive and were currently self-isolating

Valencia have confirmed that two people have tested positive for coronavirus in the latest round of tests.

The squad, now under the leadership of Javi Gracia, were tested on Monday before preseason preparations begin. The two people, who weren't named by the club, are now self-isolating and their details have been passed on to the health department.

It's been a strange start to life for Gracia at Valencia after losing Ferran Torres to Manchester City. Club captain Dani Parejo and Francis Coquelin are also expected to leave and join Villarreal imminently.

THE OFFICIAL STATEMENT

"The PCR and blood serum tests carried out this Monday for the first team, coaching staff and direct collaborators have detected two positive cases of COVID-19. Those who have tested positive will remain isolated in their homes, in accordance with LaLiga and VCF protocols. The health authorities have been informed immediately of their status.

From the first moment of this health crisis, Valencia CF have given special importance to measures to halt the expansion of the pandemic, and will maintain a strict protocol to which all members of the club are completely committed."
