LaLiga and RFEF held a productive meeting on Saturday

One of the agreements reached between LaLiga and the RFEF during Saturday's eight-hour meeting was over the return to training.

Two dates are on the table. The first is May 11, when the state of alarm, which has been in place since March, is expected to be lowered in Spain.

But in the football world, it's not been ruled out that training could restart on May 4. That could be possible because the government could authorise people to leave their homes to do exercise during that week.

SPORT have learned, therefore, that players could begin to return to their clubs' respective training grounds to start to train individually while following a strict protocol.

Earlier this month, Real Sociedad attempted to return to training. Players were due to get changed at home, train alone at the training ground respecting social distancing and then return home to shower. However, the government stopped them.

The situation has gradually improved, though, and there's now optimism that a return to training is not too far away for Spain's football teams.

RETURN OF LA LIGA

If clubs return to training May 4, the league could begin again on June 6. That would allow teams a month to slowly increase training back to groups. June 13 is the date in mind if training starts up again on May 11.

UEFA are currently planning to hold the remaining Champions League games in August, with Barça's match against Napoli tentatively set for August 8.

As for the Copa del Rey final, which should have been played last weekend, various options are on the table, such as August 5. The idea, backed by both clubs, Real Sociedad and Athletic Club, is to play with fans. Given the difficulties of that, the game could be pushed back to September or October, SPORT have learned, or even later.
