Eduardo Coudet's squad let the match slip from their hands to Seville at the Estadio Municipal de Balaidos

Seville eased past Celta Vigo in a 4-3 victory on Monday at the Estadio Municipal de Balaidos. Both Celta and Seville arrived in good form, having secured victories in their previous matches. Celta were keen to hang onto their position at the top of league and extend their winning run, following a 3-1 victory against Alaves. Seville were able to continue their winning streak after a 1-0 win against Atletico Madrid in their last match. As it stands, Celta and Seville currently occupy 10th and 4th spots in the league, with 37 points and 61 points respectively after 30 matches.

Seville dominated the first half, with Jules Kounde finding the net after only 7 minutes. However, they were unable to maintain their lead, Iago Aspas managed to equalize and take the sides off in the 20th minute at 1-1. The momentum was now with Celta, who then scored again through a second effort from Iago Aspas, 24 minutes in to establish a 2-1. However, their lead didn't last for long, Fernando producing an equaliser, 35 minutes in, bringing Seville level. However, The Sky Blues just before half-time found the back of the net via a Brais Mendez goal, finishing the first half 3-2.

Seville continued to pile on the pressure in the second, thanks to Ivan Rakitic finding the net in the 60th minute. However they weren't finished yet and Papu Gomez made it 4-3 at the 76 minute mark to make it 4-3.

For Celta, Facundo Ferreyra, Fran Beltran and Miguel Baeza, came on for Santi Mina, Facundo Ferreyra and Nolito. Seville replaced Youssef En-Nesyri, Joan Jordan, Suso, Ivan Rakitic and Jesus Navas for Luuk De Jong, Oliver Torres, Papu Gomez, Nemanja Gudelj and Munir El Haddadi.

There were bookings for Iago Aspas, Hugo Mallo and Brais Mendez from Celta. For Seville, Jules Kounde and Diego Carlos saw yellow.

Next up, Celta are away to Real Sociedad, whilst Seville will travel to face Levante.
