Real Sociedad could not move top of La Liga on Sunday as Sevilla beat them in a thriller in the south of Spain.
Mike Oyarzabal opened the scoring after good work from Adnan Januzaj, but Nolito hit back with a fine strike of his own.
The impressive Lucas Ocampos netted just after half-time to complete Sevilla’s comeback and Mudo Vazquez notched the third from close range after 80 minutes.
Portu netted late on for the visitors but they could not battle back to draw.
"We didn't play our best game," said Oyarzabal.
"We fought until the end and made it 3-2 but it couldn’t be. This team (Sevilla) are high up the table. We had chances on the counter and we didn’t take advantage and we paid for that.
"It was less about being top than adding three more points. The important thing was to win today and we didn’t do that so logically we leave disappointed."
