Sevilla have taken their first decisions after the Copa del Rey final crushing by Barca. The first victim is sporting director Oscar Arias, who was sacked on Tuesday, as announced by president Pepe Castro. The club also confirmed that coach Vincenzo Montella will stay until the end of the season.
After June 30, things could be another story. The board met on Tuesday to discuss what steps to take, anotehr tense day in Sevilla. Only after 10pm was the meeeting over and the president could explain what measures would be taken.
“The board has decided that Oscar Arias will not continue beyond this season,” said Castro. “Montella has shown his confidence in being able to take the team into Europe and that same confidence we have him him.”
