Real earn hard-fought win over Athletic 2-1 on Sunday at Reale Arena. The two teams arrived at this match after suffering a defeat in their previous league game. Real Sociedad wanted to improve their position in the tournament after losing against Leganés 2-1 while Athletic Bilbao fell defeated by 0-2 in the last match they played against Getafe.
