The defender is having a stand out season in La Liga and drawing lots of interest

Mohammed Salisu is drawing interest from Real Madrid, Atletico and even Manchester United on the back of his fine form for Real Valladolid this season.

Salisu, the latest jewel to be nurtured by Sergio Gonzalez at Pucela, has been one of the stand-out central defenders in Spain's top flight this season.

Sevilla sporting director Monchi has been following him since last summer, while Valencia and Getafe both explored a deal in the January transfer window.

Valladolid are aware they will struggle to keep hold of the Ghanain centre-back. He has a contract until 2022 but his release clause is just 12 million euros.

In principle, he's a strong, physical player who is good in the air due to his height. However, under Gonzalez, he has improved leaps and bounds on the ball and is adept at bringing the ball forward out of defense.

Monchi was the first to show an interest in him but this summer there will be plenty of competition for Sevilla. Valencia, Getafe, Atletico and United all maintain an interest in him, but Real Madrid could jump to the front of the queue.

The relationship between the two clubs is good thanks to the friendship between Madrid chief Florentino Perez and Valladolid president Ronaldo.
