Manuel Pellegrini is the new manager of Real Betis. The Chilean coach, who has vast experience in Spain, will take over the Sevilla-based club until the 2023 season. Betis believe the experience and knowledge of Pellegrini is what their project needs after a less than stellar performance in LaLiga this season.
Rubi was sacked a few weeks ago and then Alexis took temporary charge, although the club's fortunes on the pitch continued to be poor.
Pellegrini had success at both Villarreal and Malaga but was sacked by Real Madrid. He's also managed Manchester City and West Ham in the Premier League, as well as a brief spell in China. He'll be hoping that he's the man to finally get Betis back up amongst the European places.
