Granada on Thursday lost to Real Sociedad on a home defeat at the Estadio Nuevo Los Carmenes. With both teams drawing in their previous fixtures, they were keen to pick up points. Granada wanted to improve their league standing after a 1-1 draw against Barcelona. Real are struggling for form following a draw in their last match. As the table looks today, Granada and Real sit 18th and 3rd places with 3 points and 13 points respectively.

Nasrids found the net first, thanks to a goal from German Sanchez at the 9 minute mark to secure a 1-0 win.

Real started strong in the second half and were able to dominate, with Aritz Elustondo finding the net, 52 minutes in. The White and Blues looked to have the game under control when they scored again and incerased their lead, thanks to a goal from Mikel Merino at the 60 minute mark to establish a 2-1. However, they were unable to maintain their lead, Luis Milla managed to equalize and take the sides off at the 70 minute mark at 2-2. Real in turn, then responded at the 82 minute mark increasing their lead with a second effort from Aritz Elustondo, leaving the final score at 3-2.

For Granada, Antonio Puertas, Carlos Bacca, Sergio Escudero and Monchu, came on for Darwin Machis, Ruben Rochina, Carlos Neva and Luis Milla. Real brought on German Valera, Adnan Januzaj, Martin Zubimendi, Julen Lobete and Igor Zubeldia, to replace Robert Navarro, Portu, Joseba Zaldua, Mikel Oyarzabal and Alexander Sorloth.

There were bookings for Luis Suarez, Ruben Rochina, Domingos Duarte, Santiago Arias and German Sanchez from Granada, and Robin Le Normand, for Real.

Granada will next travel to Celta Vigo, while Real will face Elche at home.
