Jagoba Arrasate's squad secured a valuable away victory and three points against Villarreal

Osasuna snatched all three points from Villarreal in a 2-1 victory on Sunday, at the Estadio de la Ceramica. Villarreal had been hopeful of continuing their run after winning their previous two matches against Granada away and Cádiz at home, by 3-0 and 2-1 respectively. Osasuna, on the other hand, secured a point against Getafe in their previous match. Following today's result, Villarreal and Osasuna currently occupy 7th and 13th spots in the table, with 46 points and 34 points respectively after 30 matches.

After an un-eventful first half, Osasuna continued to apply pressure in the second and were rewarded, thanks to Jon Moncayola giving Osasuna the lead, 64 minutes in. However, their lead was short-lived, as an equalizer from David Garcia in the 70th minute, brought Villarreal level. In the end though, Osasuna, 74 minutes in took the victory following a Ante Budimir goal and seeing the game end 2-1.

For Villarreal, Gerard Moreno, Alfonso Pedraza, Samuel Chukwueze, Manu Trigueros and Fer Nino, came on for Javier Martinez Calvo, Juan Cruz, Ante Budimir, Enrique Barja and Ruben Garcia. Osasuna replaced Lucas Torro, Manu Sanchez, Jonathan Calleri, Roberto Torres and Oier with Javier Martinez Calvo, Juan Cruz, Ante Budimir, Enrique Barja and Ruben Garcia.

Villarreal will next travel to Alaves, while Osasuna will face Valencia at home.
