Eibar coach Mendilibar is impressed with the on loan Barça youngster
Marc Cucurella's impressive performance in Eibar's 3-0 win over Real Madrid at the weekend has earned him plenty of praise.
The on loan Barcelona defender played a part in all three goals as the Basque minnows stunned Santiago Solari's Madrid at Ipurua.
Eibar boss José Luis Mendilibar explained what it is that makes the Barça youngster such a good player.
"Marc is a kid with class," he said. "He hadn't played much until now. He took part in the last game away from home and he did well."
Cucurella played a more advanced role against Madrid and Mendilibar continued: "Maybe it was a surprise to see him in a position that's not natural to him, because he's usually a left back.
"He's a kid that is not quick and is not strong... By all measurements that we do with all the machines we have, he doesn't measure [high] on any of them.
"With that data, you would never sign him. But he is a footballer, he's really smart, he chooses well... that is Marc Cucurella."
