Athletic earn hard-fought win over Granada 2-0 on Sunday at San Mamés. Athletic wanted to continue adding points after winning their previous two matches against Osasuna away and Levante at home stadium, by 1-2 and 2-1 respectively while Granada scored a 1 draw against Atlético de Madrid, adding a point in the last match played of the competition. At the moment, Athletic is 5th in the LaLiga, having garnered 26 points from 15 matches, while Granada sits at 9th with 21 points after playing a total of 15 matches.
The first half started in favour of Athletic, with a goal from Raúl García just before the end of the 45 minutes, finalising the first half with a 1-0.
Athletic boosted the game in the second half, thanks to a goal from Yuri Berchiche in the 83rd minute, and the game ended 2-0.
At the end of the match, both teams made 3 substitutions each. For Athletic Ibai Gómez, Iñigo Lekue and Mikel San José came on for Iñigo Córdoba, Oihan Sancet Tirapu and Raúl García, while Granada brought on Carlos Fernández Luna, Álvaro Vadillo and Yan Eteki to replace Yangel Herrera, Roberto Soldado and Ángel Montoro.
The referee booked Dani García, Iñigo Córdoba, Ander Capa, Oihan Sancet Tirapu and Raúl García from Athletic, while for Granada Domingos Duarte, Rui Silva, Ángel Montoro and Quini saw a yellow card as well.
Athletic will play against Real Betis at away stadium, while Granada will face Alavés at home stadium.
