Fran Escriba sacked by Villarreal after Getafe smashing
Fernando Roig and the board have axed the coach with the club 14th
In the coming hours a new coach will be announced
Villarreal announced Monday they had sacked Fran Escriba following the club's 4-0 smashing by Getafe the day before. Escriba was appointed in 2016 and then renewed his deal in May this year, but has now been let go.
The club are 14th in the table and lost three of their six opening La Liga matches.
