Espanyol in trouble after defeat by Valladolid

Valladolid defeat Espanyol 2-1 on Sunday at José Zorrilla. Real Valladolid wanted to improve their position in the tournament after losing against Granada 2-1 while Espanyol scored a 2 draw against Sevilla, adding a point in the last match played of the competition. As of today, Real Valladolid and Espanyol occupy position 15th (29 points) and 20th (19 points) respectively after playing a total of 25 matches.

 There were no goals during the first 45 minutes and the first part ended 0-0.

 Real Valladolid took the lead in the second half, thanks to a goal from Sandro Ramirez 77 minutes in the game. Later, Real Valladolid scored again thanks to a goal from Sergi Guardiola in the 83rd minute to establish the 2-0. However, Espanyol just before the end of the second half hit back thanks to a penalty goal from Adri Embarba in the 90th minute, which saw the second half to a 2-1.

 As for substitutions, both coaches used full substitutions. For Real Valladolid Sandro Ramirez, Pablo Hervias and Fede San Emeterio came on for Michel Herrero, Oscar Plano and Toni Villa, while Espanyol brought on Adria Pedrosa, Ander Iturraspe and Facundo Ferreyra to replace Jonathan Calleri, Marc Roca and Wu Lei.

 The referee booked Raul Garcia from Valladolid, while for Espanyol David Lopez, Marc Roca, Adri Embarba and Sergi Darder saw a yellow card and David Lopez (2 yellow cards) saw the red card.

 Real Valladolid with their next fixture against Real Sociedad at away stadium, while Espanyol will face Atlético Madrid at home stadium.
