Espanyol and Athletic draw 1-1 on Saturday at Rcde Stadium. Espanyol arrived with the intention of increasing their league score after winning away by a 1-2 victory against Villarreal while Athletic had to settle for a draw in the last match played of the competition. As of today, Espanyol and Athletic occupy position 20th (14 points) and 8th (30 points) respectively after playing a total of 21 matches.
Excellent start from Athletic, with a goal from Asier Villalibre 12 minutes in the game, which saw the first half to a 0-1.
Espanyol took the lead in the second half, thanks to a goal from Raul De Tomas in the 63rd minute, finalising the game with a 1-1.
As for substitutions, both coaches used full substitutions. For Espanyol, Adri Embarba, Lluis Lopez and Wu Lei came on for Oscar Melendo, Victor Sanchez and Jonathan Calleri, while Athletic substituted Raul Garcia, Benat Etxebarria and Kenan Kodro with Inaki Williams, Iker Muniain and Asier Villalibre.
The referee booked Victor Sanchez, Marc Roca and Bernardo Espinosa from Espanyol, while for Athletic Mikel Vesga saw a yellow card as well.
