It's been a month of uncertainty for Diego Costa at Atletico Madrid. The Spanish international was offered around Europe before a positive COVID-19 test put the brakes on any potential exit. He's now returned to training under Diego Simeone with his future very much up in the air.
Costa hasn't quite found the same level he was at before moving to England. The striker appears to accept this but wants to prove his worth next season and earn a new deal at Atletico.
Atletico Madrid would like to cash in now because Costa is out of contract next summer. He might not be the only striker on his way out at the Wanda Metropolitano. Alvaro Morata has been linked with a big-money move to Juventus. It's possible that if Morata leaves, Costa might be handed the opportunity to stay.
