The striker has been injured but would love to play Los Blancos in the city derby early in February

Atletico Madrid striker Diego Costa is recovering from a foot injury he suffered in December and has started to work on the grass.

He took an operation on his fifth metatarsal on December 5 in Brazil. The idea was that he would get back by February 20, and was hoping to face Juventus in the Champions League on March 12 at the Wanda.

However he is recovering quickly and Diego Simeone may even have him available by February 9, to face Real Madrid in La Liga.
