On Friday Cristiano Ronaldo was at the Mutua Madrid Open to watch a tennis clash between Rafa Nadal and Joao Sousa. He is not the only Madrid player to have done so, with Toni Kroos and Alvaro Arbeloa also seen at La Caja Magica. Saul Niguez, meanwhile, has attended from Atletico Madrid.
In a moment during which play was stopped a TVE journalist went towards Cristiano Ronaldo to ask him a couple of questions in a relaxed tone, but the Portuguese, sternly, refused to answer the journalist. Kroos and Saul also didn't want to talk, but Arbeloa did so.
Hours later, on Estudio Estadio, a football programme on Teledeporte, the Madrid star was harshly criticised for his attitude. "He's very rude" and "what he did was not natural" were some of the criticisms aimed at CR7 but also towards Kroos and Saul. It is a little odd, because after both teams reached the Champions League final, it would have been a good chance to send a message of optimism to their fans.
