COPE: Chelsea's Morata has already signed for Atletico Madrid
The Spain international is set to return to La Liga this month
Spain striker Alvaro Morata is now an Atletico Madrid player. Cadena COPE have reported that the Chelsea man signed a contract with the Rojiblanco on Saturday.
If confirmed, it brings to an end one of this month's biggest transfer lines. Morata's future was one of the big unknowns. Cast out by Sarri at Chelsea, both Barcelona and Atletico were keen on signing him.
According to COPE, Barça remained in the hunt until the last minute, but the forward decided to accept the offer from Atletico.
Pending the official announcement, Morata is expected to be presented in the coming days as Diego Simeone strengthens a forward line which already included Griezmann and Diego Costa, although the latter is sidelined with an injury.
