Cádiz secured all three points to Valencia at Estadio Ramon de Carranza on Sunday

Cádiz strolled past Valencia with a 2-1 win on Sunday at Estadio Ramon de Carranza. Cádiz were looking to get back winning ways, following a previous defeat to Villarreal. Valencia, on the other hand, had been hopeful of extending their winning run, after a 2-1 victory against Granada. As things stand, Cádiz are in 13th place, with 32 points from 29 matches, while Valencia sit in 12th, with 33 points from 29.

Cádiz dominated the first half, with Juan Cala giving Cádiz the lead, 14 minutes in. However, their celebrations were kept brief, as Kevin Gameiro equalised for The Oranges in the 19th minute, which saw the first half end 1-1.

Cádiz continued to apply pressure in the second and were rewarded, thanks to a goal from Marcos Mauro just before the final whistle and seeing the game end 2-1.

For Cádiz, Marcos Mauro, Ivan Alejo, Filip Malbasic and Jorge Pombo, came on for Juan Cala, Alberto Perea, Alvaro Negredo and Jairo Izquierdo. Valencia brought on Hugo Guillamon, Manu Vallejo, Denis Cheryshev, Patrick Cutrone and Yunus Musah, to replace Mouctar Diakhaby, Daniel Wass, Alex Blanco, Kevin Gameiro and Thierry Correia.

There were bookings for Salvi Sanchez and Juan Cala from Cádiz. For Valencia, Mouctar Diakhaby and Gabriel Paulista saw yellow.

Cádiz will next travel to Getafe, while Valencia will face Real Sociedad at home.
