Home crowd left stunned by Cádiz, as Alvaro Cervera’s squad seals victory

Cádiz beat Celta Vigo with a thumping 2-1 victory on Friday at the Estadio Municipal de Balaidos. Both teams arrived at the match from previous defeats in the league. Celta were looking to get back their winning ways after losing their last game 5-2 to R Madrid. Cádiz lost 2-0 in the last match they played against Real Sociedad. After today's result, Celta are in 18th place, with 1 point from 5 matches, while Cádiz sit in 11th, with 5 points from 5.

Cádiz started the game well, with Anthony Lozano finding the net after 38 minutes. Cádiz then netted once more and increased their lead thanks to a goal from Alfonso Espino just before half-time, finalising the first half 0-2.

Celta took the lead in the second half, thanks to a goal from Santi Mina in the 64th minute, leaving the final score at 2-1.

For Celta, Thiago Galhardo, Brais Mendez, Nolito and Fran Beltran, came on for Franco Cervi, Jose Fontán, Denis Suarez and Augusto Solari. Cádiz brought on Santiago Arzamendia, Alex, Milutin Osmajic, Jens Jonsson and Alvaro Negredo, to replace Anthony Lozano, Alvaro Bastida, Ruben Sobrino, Fali and Salvi Sanchez.

There were bookings for Thiago Galhardo, Renato Tapia and Brais Mendez from Celta, and Ruben Sobrino, Varazdat Haroyan and Tomás Alarcon, for Cádiz.

Celta will next travel to Levante, while Cádiz will face Barcelona at home.
