Atlético went pass Villarreal on a hard-earned victory of 3-1 on Sunday at Wanda Metropolitano. Atlético Madrid faced the encounter with a desire to add more points to their locker after a draw against Valencia (2-2) while Villarreal won 2-1 the last league match against Levante. As of today, Atlético Madrid is 3rd in the LaLiga, having garnered 43 points from 25 matches, while Villarreal sits at 7th with 38 points after playing a total of 25 matches.
