Atlético cruise to a 1-2 win over Real Betis at Benito Villamarin

Betis defeated at home by Atlético at Benito Villamarin on Sunday. Real Betis wanted to improve their position in the tournament after a 2-2 draw against Espanyol while Atlético de Madrid won 2-0 the last league match against Osasuna. Following today's result, Real Betis is 13th in the LaLiga table with 23 points from 18 matches, while Atlético de Madrid sits 4th with 32 points after 18 matches.

The first 45 minutes ended with little further action at either end and goalless.

Atlético de Madrid boosted the game in the second half, thanks to a goal from Angel Correa 58 minutes in the game. Later, Atlético de Madrid scored again and increased their advantage thanks to a goal from Alvaro Morata with the score 0-2. Real Betis pull-back thanks to a goal from Marc Bartra in the 90th minute just before the end of the second half to establish the 1-2, finalising the game with a 1-2.

For Betis, Borja Iglesias, Diego Lainez and Cristian Tello came on for Thomas Lemar and Joao Felix, and Atlético brought on Angel Correa and Marcos Llorente for Thomas Lemar and Joao Felix.

The referee booked Aissa Mandi and Marc Bartra from Betis, while for Atlético de Madrid Joao Felix, Thomas Partey and Alvaro Morata saw a yellow card as well.
