Asensio wins charity La Liga FIFA tournament
The LaLiga Santander Challenge has gathered over 180,000 euros to fight coronavirus
Marco Asensio led Real Madrid to victory in the FIFA tournament hosted by Ibai Llanos, beating Leganes's Aitor Ruibal 4-2 in the final. The tournament raised over 180,000 euros for charity - fighting the coronavirus while football is on hold.
There was 142,000 euros donated during the event, plus and extra 40,000 euros generated by views during the three days the tournament was on. La Liga itself donated 100,000 euros.
Marco Asensio won the tournament, which featured footballers like Borja Iglesias, Carlos Soler, Marcos Llorente and Sergio Reguilon.
