Home advantage counts for nothing, as Celta travel to Alaves and take all three points

Celta Vigo snatched all three points from Alaves in a 3-1 victory on Sunday, at the Estadio de Mendizorroza. Both Alaves and Celta came from defeats in their previous league games. Alaves were looking to get back winning ways after losing their last game 1-0 to Atletico Madrid. Celta were beaten 3-1 in the previous match against Real Madrid. As things stand, Alaves and Celta sit 20th, (23 points) and 8th, (37 points), in the table respectively, after 29 matches.

The first half of the game started well for The Sky Blues, with Nolito giving Celta the lead at the 8 minute mark. The momentum was now with The Sky Blues, who then scored again through a goal from Iago Aspas, 14 minutes in to establish a 2-0. Celta then netted once more and increased their lead thanks to a goal from Santi Mina, 20 minutes in, which saw the first half end 0-3.

Alaves took the initiative in the second half, thanks to Florian Lejeune finding the net just before the final whistle, leaving the final score at 3-1.

For Alaves, Edgar Mendez, Javi Lopez, Borja Sainz and Inigo Cordoba, came on for Nolito, Santi Mina, Denis Suarez and Iago Aspas. Celta replaced Fran Beltran, Jose Fontan, Kevin Vazquez and Facundo Ferreyra with Nolito, Santi Mina, Denis Suarez and Iago Aspas.

The referee booked Victor Laguardia, Florian Lejeune, Joselu and Edgar Mendez from Alaves. Celta had the worst of it though, with Jeison Murillo, Joseph Aidoo, Kevin Vazquez, Hugo Mallo and Renato Tapia seeing yellow, and Jeison Murillo (2 yellow cards) then sent off with a red.

Alaves will next play Athletic Club away, with Celta facing Seville at home.
