Negotiations have been ongoing for months but Arthur doesn't want to go other way

Barcelona's plan is to close their first summer signing in June. And the name on the table is Miralem Pjanic, although things have been delayed. Juventus have given a deadline of June 30 for an agreement to be reached between the two parties. If they can't reach one, Juve will ask the Blaugrana to let them look to include Pjanic in other swap deals.

Talks between Barça and Juve are ongoing. There's an excellent relationship between the two clubs. However, Juve want to swap Pjanic for Arthur and while Barça are keen, Arthur is not. Maurizio Sarri, the Italian side's boss, believes the Brazil midfielder would become a key player and wants to make him one of the team's references points.

ARTHUR RESISTS

Reports in Italy insist Arthur is still on the table despite the fact he's reiterated a desire to stay at Barça. According to Tuttosport, Barça are open to letting him leave and will do what they can to convince him. Juve will not give up. If the exchange proves impossible, Juve have not asked for any other players and the deal could fall through.

It's possible that, at the last minute, a solution is found, although based on values, the only player who could fit in Arthur's place is right-back Nelson Semedo. What Juve are clear on is that any swap must be sorted before June 30, as that is when the financial year closes. Barça aren't in such a rush, but also hope to solve the Pjanic issue as soon as possible.

The Bosnian is seen as a key signing by the club and the coach, Quique Setien, sees him in midfield alongside Busquets and Frenkie de Jong.
