Moratti insists that the club's owners have the money to land the Argentine

Massimo Moratti insists that Inter Milan's dream is to sign Lionel Messi. In an interview with 'Quotidiano Sportivo', he says the club's owners have the resources to bring in Messi if he decides to leave Barcelona one day.

"Now I am just an Inter fan and I don't have confidential information," the former Inter president said. "But I know one thing: in terms of resources, [owners] Suning have everything needed to bring Leo to Milan. Suning can achieve it."

Messi's future at Barça is in the spotlight again following the club's catastrophic Champions League exit at the hands of Bayern Munich on Friday.

Barça were beaten 8-2 in the quarterfinal in Lisbon to add to 3-0 and 4-0 defeat to Roma and Liverpool in the same competition in the last two years.

Inter have been long time admirers of Messi and it was reported recently that the player's father, Jorge, has invested in property in the Italian city.

Messi, who turned 33 in June, has one year to run on his contract at Camp Nou and, if he doesn't sign a renewal, would be able to leave for free next summer.
