The Barca midfielder is on his wishlist for next season in Andalusia

Robert Moreno starts his era as a coach in La Liga on the bench of Granada. He was presented on Friday and is already mulling over a move for Barcleona’s Carles Alena.

As he showed when in charge of Spain, he likes attacking football. He thinks Alena, who was on loan at Getafe, would fit and Ronald Koeman does not need him at Barcelona.

Alena has a year left on his contract and the club have to decide on his future. If Koeman wants him then he will do pre-season. If not, then Barca will sell him, or renew his deal and loan him out.

Moreno’s next step is to start negotiations with Barca and see the viability of the deal. Granada’s new sporting director is Pep Boada, who worked at Barca in the scouting department until recently, so there may well be a good connection there. Even last window, Granada were interested in Alena too.
