The Barcelona defender spoke after the Clasico draw with Real Madrid

Gerard Pique thinks the draw was a fair result in the Clasico. "They came out with strong pressure, we lost various balls in our half and they scored early by overwhelming us with numbers," said the defender. "(However) the domination was more fictitious than it seemed. We controlled the chances, Ivan Rakitic hit the bar, Luis had that shot, bit by bit we controlled the game and in the end you have to say fair enough, they are Madrid and they played too."

Pique made a curious comment about the officiating. "Given it was Mateu (Lahoz, the referee), generally it was OK. With him, it's always a different game."

However he said that Madrid skipper Sergio Ramos should have been sent off. "Ramos committed a foul to see a second yellow card, but everything is interpretable."

Pique added: "La Liga and the Champions League are the most important competitions, but at this club, our DNA means we can't throw away trophies. We want to reach the final."
