Schreuder: Barça's Valencia win had nothing to do with Granada loss

Koeman's assistant spoke to the media after Barça's vital 3-2 win on Sunday

With Ronald Koeman serving a touchline ban, his assistant Alfred Schreuder was in charge of the postgame news conference after Barcelona's 3-2 win at Valencia on Sunday.

Schreuder spoke about bouncing back from Granada, the Atletico Madrid game and the situation at the top of the La Liga table.

Here's what he had to say: Turning the game around: "If you concede a goal, it's always disappointing. But it had nothing to do with the Granada game. We played very well in the first half and showed a very good reaction after the 1-0. The players kept the belief in what they did and showed a big character today with their reaction and I think we deserved the win."

Title race: "It will be very close. I think that's what we hoped for in January, that it would be close. We are there. We don't have to look at other teams. But you're right, it's close. And sometimes we lost a point, sometimes Atletico or Madrid or Sevilla ... It won't be final next week, though, there are still four games to go."

Confidence in the dressing room? "Yes, of course. I think everybody in Barcelona trusts the players and we trust our players. That's what they showed again today. If you look at the distance to Atletico in January, it was very far, and we had a very good few months and it was important to be where we are now and if we win next week we are above them."

Granada loss so costly now: "We don't have to look back, the past is the past and you cannot change that. We have to look forward to Atletico now. You cannot change the game vs. Granada but I think we have a lot in our own hands."

Bad defending: "Of course like today I think one or two counter chances from Valencia, but I think the second goal is difficult to defend. The first goal a corner, a little bit blocked Marc (ter Stegen). Against Granada, we didn't defend well two moments, which costs you the game. We talked with the players. It's very important to defend strong."
