The former Real Madrid goalkeeper could go for the top job in Spanish football

Last night Cadena COPE released a story saying Iker Casillas would present himself as a candidate for the RFEF presidential elections. Elections that Luis Rubiales has asked the CSD to bring forward to the first part of this year, like Villar did in 2012.

SPORT can confirm the former Real Madrid goalkeeper is intereted in this option and is looking at it. It was concocted from the AFE (Spanish footballers association), who believe Casillas would be the ideal candidate.

Casillas suffered a heart-attack while coaching Porto in May 2019 and has been recovering since.
