The duo took the awards at a ceremony on Monday night

Barcelona midfielder Alexia Putellas and Chelsea's Marc Cucurella have been chosen as the best Catalan players of the year, according to the votes of a jury of representatives of the media.

Alexia, the two-time Ballon d'Or winner, beat her teammate Aitana Bonmatí and Manchester United's Ona Batlle to the prize. She obtained 51.2 percent of the votes, to Bonmati's 46.3 and Batlle's 2.5.

In the male vote, the winner was Cucurella, who got 68.3 percent of the votes. Second place went to Marc Bartra (Trabzonspor), with 22%, while Gerard Deulofeu (Udinese) took 9.7%.

Pep Guardiola (Manchester City) was chosen as the best Catalan coach of the year with 61.9% ahead of Rubi (Almería, 21.4) and Natalia Arroyo (16.7%).

The player young player award went to Claudia Pina (Barcelona) with 80.5% of the votes ahead of her teammates Meritxell Font (12.2) and Júlia Bartel (7.3%), while Ferran Jutglà (Bruges) won the men's caregory (64.3%) ahead of Arnau Martínez (Girona, 23.8%) and Rubén Sánchez (11.9%), who completed the podium.

The top scorers of the year were Alexia Putellas (18) and Gerard Deulofeu (14).

The jury's special prize went to Levante Las Planas, from Liga F, for having repeatedly achieved promotion in recent seasons, despite being a modest team.
