The midfielder took a different route to some of this teammates

Paris Saint-Germain midfielder Ander Herrera, in contrast to his teammates, wouldn't be drawn on Lionel Messi's future in an interview with Cadena SER on Monday.

After Di Maria, Neymar, Paredes and Verratti all made comments about Messi, the former Manchester United man offered a more respectful response.

"I respect everyone's opinion but I also put myself in Barcelona's place," Herrera said. "And If I was at Barcelona, I wouldn't like to hear (other clubs) talking about Messi.

"I wouldn't say it's a lack of respect that it happens, but I am not going to do it. I think in the world of football, it's normal and understandable that players are always spoken about, but I won't indulge."

Herrera also spoke about his teammates Neymar and Mbappe: "Neymar is massively implicated and hungry to win every possible trophy. I think he's bought into the project and is taking on the role of leader.

"As for Kylian, I am convinced he will be one of the best players of the next decade, but at the moment we can't force him to carry the project."
