The Barça midfielder went out the night before a key qualifier against Finland

Barcelona player Miralem Pjanic, on loan at Besiktas, has been dropped from the Bosnian national team due to his behaviour off the pitch.

Pjanic, 31, was left out of the squad for Tuesday's World Cup qualifier against Ukraine after it emerged he went out before Saturday's defeat to Finland.

The midfielder was taken off after 66 minutes against Finland, jeered by supporters, with reports later claiming he had been smoking hookah and drinking the night before the match.

The Finland game was a key match for Bosnia. If they won, they would have been second going into Tuesday's final round of matches, which is enough to secure a playoff spot for the 2022 World Cup. Instead, they are fourth.

It's been a tough time for Pjanic, whose transfer from Juventus to Barcelona did not work out. He didn't feature under Ronald Koeman and was sent on loan to Turkish side Besiktas for the season.
