The ex-Barcelona forward won his seventh Ballon d'Or earlier this week

Jorge Messi is fed up with the criticism and complaints that have followed his son, Lionel Messi, winning his seventh Ballon d'Or earlier this week.

Messi. Sr posted on his Instagram account an image of the former Barcelona forward and the comment: "Bla, bla, bla... keep going."

Many people have questioned France Football's -- and the voting journalist's -- decision to award Messi the top individual prize in the game for 2021.

In Spain and in Germany, above all, there's been indignation after Bayern Munich's Robert Lewandowski (second) and Real Madrid's Karim Benzema (fourth) missed out.

German publication Bild said: "In the superstar Paris Saint-Germain team alone there are at least three stronger players: Kylian Mbappe, Neymar and Marquinhos.

"They are better than Messi, who was chosen the best player in the world. Messi is nice, his quality is undisputable. There's not doubt that he was once the best player in the world. Those that voted for him today did so on memories of the past."
