The PSG forward will be 35 at the tournament later this year

Lionel Messi says he will have to consider "many things" after the World Cup in Watar this year and couldn't confirm he will carry on representing Argentina beyond the tournament in Qatar.

"I've been happy with the national team for a while," he said after scoring in the 3-0 win over Ecuador at La Bombonera on Friday.

"We won the Copa America with this brilliant group of players. Everything's flowing naturally. It's easier on and off the pitch. Winning helps everything feel easier."

The worry for Argentina fans is they may never see Messi play again in his homeland because the Albiceleste are not likely to play another home game before the World Cup.

"I don't think we will be back (before Qatar)," Messi said. "This is the last one. Now we are thinking about Ecuador (next week) and then the friendlies before the World Cup.

"After the World Cup, I will have to consider many things, whether it goes well or not, we hope it goes well."
