They deservedly led thanks to Sterling's early strike but Liverpool improved after the break to play their part in an entertaining game.
Matip's goal forced the game to penalties, with Wijnaldum's miss eventually setting the stage for Jesus to fire home as City won a fifth successive domestic trophy in England -- Community Shield, League Cup, Premier League, FA Cup, Community Shield.
