Olympique Lyon trying to lure away Aitana Bonmati
The Barca Femeni midfielder was one of the stars of their season
After Barcelona Femeni won the treble they have become the team to beat. And their players are on the wish list for many other sides.
Lieke Martens, Alexia, Hermoso, Mariona, Mapi Leon and others have received offers from elsewhere. Another who has is Aitana Bonmati.
Many of their contracts end in 2022 so Barca are under some pressure to raise salaries as the offers are big.
One of those most wanted is Aitana. She was one of the stars of the season and is only 23. Olympique Lyon and Chelsea are among those hunting for her, while PSG, City and Bayern have asked too.
Lyon are offering to quadruple her salary and would offer a record 500,000 euros for her.
Despite Lyon’s interest, Aitana has no intention of changing location. Barca are the club of her life and she feels important in the team. However, the club are in an economic crisis and we don’t know what repercussions it will have.
