Official: Barcelona confirm signing of Man City midfielder Keira Walsh

Keira Walsh is finally an FC Barcelona player after the club confirmed they had reached an agreement with Manchester City to sign the England midfielder on Wednesday.

Walsh played a key role in the operation, agreeing to reduce her salary to help Barça pay the fee, which will be, pending official confirmation, a world record fee in the women's game of €400,000.

The 25-year-old was one of the best players at the European Championships and was named the MVP in the final as England beat Germany.

She had a contract at City until 2023 but had expressed a desire to join Barca, following fellow England international Lucy Bronze to the club.
