Miedema renews Arsenal contract and won't sign for Barcelona
The forward was of interest to Barça but will stay in England
Vivianne Miedema has agreed on a new contract with Arsenal, the English side announced on Friday, ending the speculation over the Dutch forward's future.
Barcelona had been interested in Miedema, along with a host of Europe's top clubs, with her previous deal due to expire at the end of the current season.
Miedema, 25, is the top scorer in the history of the Barclays FA Women's Super League and has twice been named in the FIFA Team of the Year.

"Winning titles with Arsenal means a lot more for me than with any other team at the moment," she said. "It's for that reason I hope to achieve that here."
Jonas Eidevall, the Arsenal coach, added: "Vivianne is a world star and is vital for this team, so it's fantastic she's staying with us."
