Irene Paredes: We'll play with respect but a lot of desire to win

Irene Paredes is the Barcelona Femeni footballer that has most faced Lyon, thanks to her five seasons at PSG. Five years in which she has faced all type of situations against the seven-times champions of Europe, and that give her experience ahead o

f the final on Saturday night.

“I have accumulated all types of results against many of those who are still at Lyon and that gives me an experience that doesn’t show up in the videos,” said Paredes. “I tried to speak and give little details to my team-mates that you can’t see at a glance and I hope they help us tomorrow.”

Paredes highlighted the level of both sides ahead of the final. 

“We are the two best teams in Europe and maybe the world. It’s normal that we’re excited. We also have the desire to win. It will be hard-fought because may of their players have won seven Champions Leagues and we want to retain the cup. It will be complicated but we are coming to do this, to win. We have worked hard to be able to do it. We will play with a lot of respect, but a lot of desire to win the game.”
