The Barca academy has changed a few things this summer and it's showing
La Masia has gone through a lot of changes this summer. The arrival of new directors has provoked some changes in the style of play of Barcelona’s youth teams. That has been evident from the first few games.
The biggest change is using wingers on the side of their natural best foot. Usually they play on opposite flanks to come inside and connect with those in the middle, but now Barcelona want to look for players who can beat a man one on one. That modification also means that full backs aren’t instructed to attack as much and instead hold their position.
It’s a controversial move and only time will tell if it’s a good one or not.
