Rafa Marquez confirms he will coach in Barca's youth academy
The Mexican defender, a club legend, is poised to return from next season
Rafa Marquez spoke to TUDN where he confirmed that he has been offered a role coaching in Barca’s youth set up from next season.
The Mexican defender was asked about the news from SPORT and he did not deny it.
“It’s hard to say no to Barca,” said Marquez. “When I return to Spain I will have a conversation to seal everything and if everything goes like it has now, in August the intention is to join Barcelona.”
On the offer, Marquez added: “The invitation they’re making me can help my process and opens doors for me at one of the best teams in the world but above all at one of the best youth academies.”
On his relationship with Joan Laporta, he said: “I have a very good relationship with Joan. The reason I supported his candidacy was for this good friendship.”
