The Barcelona midfielder is set to miss preseason with the first team

Bad news for Carles Aleña. The Barcelona player got injured playing for Barça B against Real Zaragoza at the weekend and will have to undergo surgery in Finland. 

"The FC Barcelona player Carles Aleñá suffered a ruptured tendon in right hamstring in the Barça B clash with Real Zaragoza at the Miniestadi," the club said in a statement. 

"Medical tests carried out on the player in the last few days confirmed the injury and Aleña will now travel to Helsinki, Finland with members of the Club’s medical staff to be operated on by Dr. Sakari Orava. When the surgery has been carried out, the Club will publish a press release."

Despite not saying how long he will out, he's expected to be sidelined for three months which will see him miss the first team's preseason and the tour of the United States. 

Aleña's been a key player for the second team this season, scoring 11 goals in 37 games in the second tier of Spanish football.
