UCAM Murcia beat the Barça youngsters on penalties on Sunday

Barça B coach Garcia Pimienta felt football wasn't fair with his side as they lost in the playoffs against UCAM Murcia on Sunday.

After a 2-2 draw, UCAM won on penalties to progress to the playoff final, where they will fight for a spot in the second division next season.

"Football's been unfair with us," Pimienta said. "We did more than enough to deserve the win. We were better than a great team in UCAM in performance and chances. I really liked the Barça side I saw."

"At the beginning of the season, maybe we wouldn't have believed that we would be in the playoffs if you'd told us that. We haven't made excuses after this match or throughout the whole campaign. If you have to lose, then let it be like this.

"The state of the pitch, with the grass dry, hampered us. We couldn't play triangles, but we played for the win and I am happy and proud of the players.

"Their two goals were avoidable. When you have these players (Barça B's youngster) six, seven more years, I'm sure it doesn't happen. That point of quality we don't have in experience."

Despite the defeat, Pimienta also looked for the positives.

"It's emotional when you see the players compete and stay true to our style even though it's difficult," he added. "I feel bad, the effort they put in was brutal.

"We can be happy and calm, though, because La Masia works. There are a stream of players ready, I hope, to make history, and that's what stays with me. If we can provide two, three, four players for the first team, we can be happy."
