Manchester United are also keen on the Chertanovo player

Barcelona continue to comb the market for the finest young players in the world and have set their sights on Sergey Pinyaev, a young Russian forward who plays for Chertanovo.

According to Sport-Express, Barça are closed to signing the youngster with the objective of then loaning him to Khimki, who play in the Russian top flight.

Barça are aware that Pinyaev is being tracked by a number of clubs and that Manchester United are also pushing hard to sign him.

The English club had him on trial in 2019 and, as can be seen on social media, Pinyaev trained with the first team evidenced by a photograph of him alongside Paul Pogba. He also played a friendly for the U19s, scoring five goals.

However, United face an obstacle because rules in England don't allow clubs to sign players under 18. For that reason, Barça want to loan him to Khimki where he can continue his development before coming to Barça properly.

Pinyaev has a contract with Chertanovo until 2022 but has already said farewell on social media. In 30 games this season, he's scored twice and was the youngest player to do so at the age of 15 years, nine months and 10 days.

On his Instagram and after the publication of Barça's interest, the player published an image of a simulated video call with Messi and a message in Russian which translated into Spanish would be: "Leo read the news, called me and asked me what was happening."
