Estanis Pedrola will play for the U19s this coming season and the B team the year after

Alongside preparing the first team for next season, work is also underway at Barcelona to make sure the youth teams are well covered in terms of talent.

The latest signing is Estanis Pedrola, a winger who arrives from Fundació Reus to play for the Juvenil A (U19) team next season.

Expanding on the information first revealed by Diari de Tarragona, SPORT can confirm that Estanis will sign a three-year deal with the plan to progress into the B team in his second season at the club.

He's a player who was previously at Espanyol and always stood out, but as is often the case in youth football his size saw him released by the club.

However, after returning home to play for Reus, he's grown (he's now 1.85m) and this season drew interest from several clubs in Spain.

Real Madrid were closest to signing him before Barça emerged on the scene. Los Blancos were in advanced talks but Barça and Reus have an agreement which gives Barça the first option on their players which tipped the balance in their favour.

Meanwhile. Carlos Aleman will also join Barça's Juvenil A team next season. The full-back will make the switch from rivals Espanyol.
