The youngster scored 19 goals from midfield last season and continues to impress

Barcelona continue to comb the market for young Spanish players after signing Pedri and Pablo Torre from the lower divisions in recent seasons.

Now they have another name on their list of targets: the Rayo Vallecano youngster Pablo Muñoz.

At 19, the Rayo attacking midfielder is considered one of the most promising attacking midfielders in the Spanish game at the moment.

Last season, he shone for Rayo's U19 team with 19 goals despite not being a striker and he has continued his good form into the current campaign.

Barça moved in the summer

Muñoz's excellence saw Barça first make a move in the summer just gone, knowing that his deal was due to expire at the end of June 2022.

However, he decided to stay put and signed a new deal with Rayo, where he feels he is best placed for his development at the moment.

But Barça have not stopped following him and, along with Real Madrid, will try again in the future.

Barça and Madrid also fought for a Rayo youngster in 2020, when Barça beat Madrid to the signing of Fabian Luzzi.
